What You Need to Know About Home Buying

Buying a house is one of the biggest and most expensive decisions you will ever make. It's vital to understand the process and obtain a qualified buyer's agent in order to feel confident about your purchase for years to come.

I understand that buying a home is not something anyone should take lightly and it's not something you do every day. Even buying a home every couple of years means that things change and the process can be confusing but I want you to feel confident and secure about your purchase which is why I will do everything in my power to offer valid, reputable information and advice you along every step of the way.

Before Buying:

If you're just starting out in the buying process the very first step is your finances.

GET PRE-APPROVED

Before looking at any homes, which I know is almost impossible, talk to a lender and get pre-approved. This means a lender has looked at your finances, all your income, debt, assets, and liabilities and has approved you for a certain amount. This is the amount you want to keep your search within.

There is nothing more disheartening than finding an amazing home only to realize you can't afford it. If you need some great references for East Valley or Central Phoenix mortgage brokers or lenders, give me a call!   480-966-9353 - Let's connect you with a lender right now! You are not obligated to buy but you would at least know what you can afford and that's half the battle right there!

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

Do you even know what you want? You might think you do but use this checklist to really make notes about the type of property you want and what you don't want, which is just as important:

  • School Zones?
  • Square Footage
  • Lot Size
  • Lot location
  • Corner lot
  • Fenced yard
  • Walking distance to schools or shops
  • Number of Bedrooms and Bathrooms
  • Size of the Kitchen
  • Family Room or Extra Room
  • Mature Landscaping
  • Minimal Landscaping
  • Condo or Townhouse
  • HOA (Home Owner's Association)
  • Commute time to work
  • Hot tub or Pool
  • Office space
  • 1-story, 2-story, Split Entry or Tri-level
  • Stairs
  • Close to hospitals
  • Is this a vacation or second home?
All of these questions should be answered to some degree before looking at homes. Every person is unique and what they want in a home is personalized. Let me help you find the right home at the right price.
